soundtrack question

Not sure if this is the right place for the question but if anyone will know its you guys in here.

how can i tell what type of sound is on an .avi clip? I have a Sharp lcd tv in the kitchen that takes pendrives to play back avi files, and i've downloaded a bunch for my kid to watch but some play with sound and others don't. How do i find what "type" of soundtrack a clip has? Is there a program that tell you such info?

if it is ac3 on a clip, is there a program that will change or convert the sound to normal stereo?

use g-spot to find out what audio codec it is then atleast you will know what will play
