Info Avoid Zavvi.com at all costs, unbeeleevable

    This is totally unbelievable!

I pre-ordered my son a wii-u for xmas from zavvi.com and i thought everything would be ok, since then i recently (few days ago) bought a doctor who series 7 dvd set from them too, seeing as its out i thought i would get it more or less straight away.

I log in tonight to see that the delivery date for this dvd set which has been released is over 1 month and estimated delivery is 28th December - wankers so ive cancelled it. ill order from amazon instead.

its lucky the wii-u was on preorder and they aint taken anything out of my account, or id have been fooked for xmas.

a quick scan on the net brings up lots of people saying exactly the same thing - missing, non delivered or mega late items.

how can this company get away with this?

    ive emailed watchdog

if you have ordered a wii u or anything else from zavvi - cancel it and get it from amazon instead, a bit dearer but amazon would be quicker.

Indeed mate, complete lottery if you receive your order or not.

Plenty of deals pop up on zavvi but I usually end up paying a few quid more to buy from amazon or ebay.

    Shooooooo-ryuken!

I don't tend to buy their wares but today bought a DVD boxset as it was the cheapest online. Will see how it goes, they are part of the hut group and I have ordered clothes from there before without many problems, main problem was mispriced stuff being cancelled.

Had the same problem with them and others I know have, listing stuff as in stock then setting a delivery date weeks later, I get the impression most of what they are selling now is drop shipping but certainly gone right to shit since it was taken over.

never use sites like that, i might use play as they are not too bad, other than that its either amazon/ebay and i always go uk stock and will happily pay a few more pence if the delivery date is quicker!

Got a dispatch email last night, I think BB is right, all drop shipped so that explains the varying quality of service.

ordered clothes from the Hut before and had order cancelled as they could not fulfill, you get some shitty email about no stock and they are trying their hardest to source from other suppliers then low and behold few days later another email cancelling your order while stating how hard they tried but ultimately failed, like they were trying to do you a favour!

Unfortunately I bought it before you posted, shame as the item was in Amazon Lightening deals for only £3 more than Zavvi.

My wiiU order is with Zavvi, just received a dispatch email for my console and game, complete with dpd tracking numbers.

Hopefully they'll turn up in time, but so far my experience is good.

With tracking you should be fine, DPD usually give you an hour time slot too so you don't have to stay in all day.

My missus has just told me she ordered a box set bluray for me on sale at £39.99 from Zavvi a few weeks ago. Got an email saying they couldn't deliver as they were out of stock. She then checked there site only to find them in stock at a price of £99.
If nature always takes the easiest route, what's easier...?
The creation of billions of galaxies each containing trillions of stars each with their own solar systems, some with planets that have evolved civilisations with billions of different life forms. OR The creation of just your imagination?

My WiiU turned up today, can't really fault them for that... They have however sent my Mario game separately, was dispatched two days ago apparently and no sign of it yet!
