    Help Friend Emigrating to Aus

    Hi All
A friend of mine is emigrating to Aus and I wanted to get her a present before going, she is 30 with a small child. I have looked at cuddly toys like Koala with cork hat or I was going to get a baby hat and put woollen balls hanging from it so looks like cork hat but running out of ideas really :-(
    Anyone got an idea?
    Thanks

What is your budget? Is it all about the thought rather than the value?

Are you in a group of friends? You should all get together and have a decent photo done maybe all in cork hat's with some tins of XXXX or Fosters (they don't sell Fosters in Aus, it is all XXXX), or take an old one and get it printed, put into a frame etc...

defiantly the thought, price not too bothered about as not see them for a few years once they go so worth a few pennies. Photo not a bad idea but don't think could round the troops for it in time, but that's def the sort of thing I was after (I expected some smutty ones as well to which df didn't disappoint lol)

What about some sort of device for keeping in touch ?

If she does not have a laptop etc.. Then how about a Netbook or Tablet with camera so she can Skype.

    Now for the filth..

When I say Skype, I mean get her bap's out. Obviously you will then record it and post it in the Forum

Tell her how you really feel. You can't lose. If she says she feels the same, your life changes. If she tells you, you're the reason she's leaving then you won't have to see her again.

I emigrated to Aus for a few years when i was younger. I would recommend cash if they are stopping at Singapore as you can get some good bargains (if it's still as cheap as when i was last there) or maybe a small hamper with stuff that's hard to get hold of over there without paying a fortune like marmite, dairymilk etc... I hate marmite but my dad loved it when family sent over stuff like that cause they only sold vegi-mite.

    Thanks to Mr Slippyfist

You could make the effort to go around the troops one by one, take their pictures in a cork hat with a can of XXXX, then photoshop together a montage/collage thing and get that printed.

Bonus is you only need 1 hat and 1 can of XXXX.

    Thanks to rIKmAN

I don't love her in that way but yeah if anyone in that position losing someone they wanted to spend their life with they should tell them as life too short for "if onlys"

It's the most racist country I have ever lived in or visited and I lived there 10 years.
