    Default HP Microserver

I have one of these HP Microserver computers and just chucked in couple of 1TB drives. For OS I am running MS Windows 2012 Essentials (testing purposes).
Completed the setting of directories for media and I have also shared the same directory.
(I can access to this share from my other PC and it does not prompt me for login details.)

Now, when I try and add this to XBMC using SMB, it does not even see the server name in the list.
    What am I missing?

Other PC (Windows 8) was visible.
Currently turned off. But yes, xbmc can see it.

I had this issue. I think it was related to ports on the server, or a firewall issue.

i'm running 2008 R2 on my hp nas and xbmc sees it fine

maybe 2012 does SMB shares differently and xbmc needs updating?

Turned off all the firewall settings which did not help.

Thane by luck, I've found this and was able to configure it:

    Thanks to those who helped.

    Thanks to Latman
