Does slow BB mean I will get slow FO?

I have BB & it's about 3mbit if I'm lucky, I am due to upgrade to fibre optic but wondered if FO will significantly slow as I am quite a distance from the exchange ?

Fibre speeds depends on the distance to your street cabinet, not on the distance to your exchange.

As mysterym said...your speed will now depend on how far you are from the cabinet, which is hopefully near your house (guessing its BT you are with)

I went from 6Mb to 65Mb over night when I converted.
You definitely will benefit from it.

Your proposed supplier should be able to give a rough guestimate of what you should get.

9 times out or 10 on fibre you will get near enough the advertised speed. Go for it and embrace the speed

Thanks everyone for you comments on this, I did wonder if the FO was supeiore to the crappy copper that lies beneath us. My cabinet is 4 doors down from where i live so im now hyped to get hooked up & smash the life out of usenet.
