i installed it on my lenovo x200 tablet laptop - i stuck it out for a few days.
its such a frustrating backwards step, i reinstalled windows 7 pro.

even with the touchscreen windows 8 is still a pile of shite

    Thanks to tiggerbiker

I don't need the opinions in a random video to tell me how I should go about my business.

Seriously, if you can't get your head round Windows 8 then stick to a fucking iPad.

    Thanks to cyprus

    I'm a fan.

I've taken delivery of the sony duo 11 (i7 8gb ssd digitizer / multi touch and 1920 screen) and am really enjoying win 8 in tablet and in keyboard mode.

MS (historically great pirates of other companies' hard work and ideas) have obviously spent time 'analysing' what the competition are doing.

This could well be the start of MS comeback in to the OS / UI space.

I'm certainly stealing ideas from iOS and win 8 for my client developments.

I've had this for a few days now, personally I think there is nothing wrong with it. Does take a bit of messing around to get it all set up right but I havent needed the old start button once so far.

Theres a really good app called oblytile (not in the store, google search for it) that makes it really easy to add tiles with custom images, weblinks etc and all the basic things like shutdown, restart, my computer etc.

I can see why people are saying why not just stay with windows 7 but for the sake of £25 I think its a refreshing change.

Spend £25 then install a free app to make it look like Windows 7 !

    4me2 you're on a hate mission with windows 8!

The app creates custom tiles, it makes it nothing like windows 7.

I'm with Cyprus, I have it installed on my conventional (non touch screen) laptop and think it works fine. I can use it like Windows 7 with conventional desktop or the more visually appealing metro mode. Seeing random, constantly refreshing pictures of my kid, news, weather, sports scores etc.. etc.. is nice. In a few years time we'll all be used to touch based computers, and wondering how we ever managed with just a mouse.

Probably like Xbox connects via built in cam.

    buhahaha! bloody apple fanboys

Windows 8 is a dumbed down OS for a dumbed down society and Apple and there iOS is probably partly to blame here.
The only OS that is going to give you real power, freedom and options is Linux.
