    Help Gaming Laptop

In a few months, ill be looking to buy a new laptop. Im after a gaming laptop, prefereably something with a 17" screen. I used to own a Dell M1710, beast of a machine that took a beating when I dragged it offshore every other month. A desktop PC is out of the question due to this reason. I know a 17" lappy is hardly portable but having owned one before, i never used to notice the extra weight in my case.

My budget will be about £750, possibly a little more. Im wanting as much spec for my buck obviously. I know its an old machine but the Dell XPS M1730, can easily be picked up for £650+.

Alienware look like a decent brand, any other suggestions?

Alienware is just Dell, decent kit but even MORE overpriced. . . ., Asus make my fave laptops and used to make them for Sony back when Vaio were at their best. Many years ago I bought just about my favourite ever laptop from someone on here (mobileman?) they've dropped the ball a bit on tablets but from early years buying their mobs. graphics cards etc I reckon they are pretty good, contrary to som reports I've seen I found Asus Customer Service to be bloody good too.
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

Depends how powerfull you want? ~I have been looking and to future proof them radeon 7970 or gtx 670, 675m or 675mx or 680m. your looking at 1000 plus,

the Y580 is a good deal.. but they are not being sold anymore they have a 660m in which is a overclocked 650m if I remember correct
