Default installing ipa files without vshare or installous?

I have an old 3g iphone and want to install a couple of ipas.

The itunes configuration is set to 'manually configure files' and a 'sync apps' will remove what I already have on the phone.

Obviously installous is no longer and vshare only works on iOS 5+ and the 3g is 4.2.1....

Is there a way I can install some ipas without messing up what is already installed.

Default installing ipa files without vshare or installous?

Can you not just use openssh/ifunbox to transfer the files across?

If you've got Installous already installed, use iFile to navigate to the Installous 'downloads' folder and drop the IPA there, then go into Installous and from the downloads bit you can choose to install anything in that folder.

    Thanks to Zoots

This is what I meant, so is it not possible to do the same through vShare?

I don't know what Vshare is.

Essentially, just moving the file over wont initiate the installation. Think of the IPA as an exe. I think iFile will allow you to choose 'installer' as an option to open the file.

Ok Installous is available via the insanelyi repo so no

InstallousAlive (also via insanelyi repo) is an app that apparently lets Installous work (prevents shut down) and lets you use the install function.

    Lets see how it goes...

ok seems to work although not all the apps work, guessing its the 4.2.1 fw

Just install app sync and drag the ipa into iTunes and sync, that's what I do. You can download apps from various sites using your pc which I find much quicker.

That wont work for me. I have 'manually ' update files selected. So if i try and sync it will remove all the apps currently on the phone. The solution above works with the installius hack that allows you to use its install function
