VU Solo+ questions

Hi All,

The VU Solo+ is my first ever box and I have got it working fine thanks to some helpful peeps on this forum.

Got some quick questions if you wouldnt mind helping:

1) Is there a "better" media player plugin as some AVI's dont play that I FTP to my attached HDD.
2) I cant record and watch another channel. Is there any way to set it up so you can record one channel and watch another? (I have an old sly dish with 4 connections as I had multi rooms),
3) How do you set it up so that it does an auto update of the EPG's?

You can record and watch a another channel unless you get a box with 2 or more tuners. You can install cross epg and under setting you can get it to automatically download the epg. Mine does it at 4 in the morning. Media player wise there are a few. Just go to download plugins and have a browse. Gotta admit i use the mac mini for streaming rather than the sat box.

I've got the EPG settings sorted, thanks for that.

I take it the title "solo" refers to the amount of tuners the box has?

I know there are a few media players but I was hoping for some opinions on the best for most compatibility playback as I have had a few that wont play.

Might just get myself a WD Live G3 box

I got the vu solo 2 for a family member this has 2 x tuners built in.

Also the media player on the black hole image has played any file I have tried . 720pmkv and Avis these can be put on USB and plugged in on the front off the solo2.

I use xbmc for playback off files combined with sickbeard it's the best setup IMO .

Thanks for the reply, it came with blackhole but I changed to vix, cant remember why now, might go back if the media player is better.

Do you know how to set up so I can watch and record if it has two tuners built in?
