Question on Tivo, BB etc

Hi All.

I have currently got a virgin media tivo package which includes Tivo box, phone line and BB.

However, i am starting a new job next month & one of the benefits of the job is I get free BB (still pay the line rental).

I still want to keep my Tivo box but am wanting to obviously switch the BB and phone line to another provider.

Is it still possible to use all the internet functions of the Tivo, using another providers BB?

Only asking cos my son likes watching videos on the youtube app through the Tivo box. (nothing filthy, hes only 2 he likes watching nursery rhymes etc on it).

It is my understanding that your broadband at the moment is seperate from the bandwidth your Tivo uses for streaming iplayer, Youtube etc to the Tivo box.. I seem to recall 10meg is hived off for that without touching your BB entitlement.

I dont think anything you watch via Tivo is affected if you drop the BB

It shouldn't be but I resisted answering because of the LAN connection on the back, currently only for the at home app I think, puts it on the local network. Cable boxes are on the WAN as part of the TV connection methinks...

So just to confirm in simple terms:

if i have my Internet and phone with bt and my tv through virgin tivo, i can still use the Internet apps like YouTube on the tivo, without having to plug my bb line in?

Can you not just submit your virgin bill with a breakdown of costs on to your new work as an expenses claim? Could be another option.
