    Default Bitcoin mining

Just wondering if any DF members had made any money from this? Is it old hat now or in its early stages?

Someone on reddit posted the other day about having invested all his money and even taken out loans to invest in bit coin. Could obviously be a lie though. I think they have grown in value heavily after the past few weeks but do you need to find a buyer to shift them? Seems like a boiler room scam to me, I thought the main purpose was anonymity.

    Thanks to evilsatan

Mining is Past it now I'd say - as more coins are mined it becomes increasingly harder to mine more (you're in effect providing the crypto for the system).

There's a couple of exchanges where you can buy/sell fairly easily but they're tricky to fund from within the uk - I believe, at least in part, due to money laundering fears. You can make some good cash out of it as there's an upward trend and you see spikes of up to 30% at certain predictable times of the year. Of course if any major country cracks down on it/deems it illegal you'll see a major crash.

    I agree. It's past it.

Since it kinda went mainstream, its borked itself. It will rise a little but eventually it will collapse. There will be a new currency, if there isn't already.

Diggin up an old thread. Anyone get any bitcoins around this time? I got just over 20 quids worth in March and I logged in today.. 300 odd quid!! Not sure what to do now. - perhaps just wait until next year and see if it goes up even more.

just wait it out. Bitcoins are just exceeding everyones expectations. I traded in for WDC coins which are doing well at the moment.

Used to bit coin mine for a bit earlier in the year, bought some products back in july with them (cough, cough) had about £6 worth left in wallet

Checked today and they are worth £55

https://localbitcoins.com is a good place to sell them if your wanting rid, as its harder to sell for GBP for some reason?

    Cheers

4 million pounds worth somewhere in the size of a football fiield (maybe upto 4/5 feet down). You would have everybody who worked there and all the rest scouring for it. I think it would be findable if you had access to the site.
