Building a website

Ive been asked by a friend to help build a website for their local sports club. The old site is very out dated, and i would like to bring it up to date with animated drop down menus, some youtube videos etc. I dont have any knowledge of programming or website script so I would be looking to use one of these free website builders you find online.

Is there one which stands above the rest? I'd also be looking to host the site free online, and preferably not have anything like "www.googlesites.sportsclub.com" in the address.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

1&1 gives you a full domain name and you can also use their website builder to create something.
Never used it myself, but I know others that have and say it's hard at first til you get used to it.

I personally would recommend finding a WYSIWYG website builder, then hosting and webname seperately. Would probably be cheaper.
I haven't made any sites lately, but the ones I did create, the owners paid yearly for their hosting and domain name from http://www.streamline.net/web-hosting/

would something like a wordpress site not suffice? depends how you want it to look of course but Wordpress is very easy to setup and use
