Back up?

Hey all,

I am getting to grips with my smartphone (Sony Experia Z) and i now want to back up my phone. I have researched this and it seems Titanium BAckup Pro is the one to go for, however, this is only for rooted phones - mine isn't.

Looking at non-rooted backup software, it looks like these do not back up apps etc, basically a rooted backup restores the phone to exactly how it was - therefore a rooted phone is best? Or am i talking rubbish and there is a backup for non-rooted phones which backs up everything including apps etc?

Lastly, if i do have to root to achieve what i want - how easy is that to do?

Any help would be appreciated!
