    Attention Giffgaff double payment issue

    Has anyone else been affected by this?
    It is an issue that they are aware of, last month a lot of people got charged twice who had recurring Goody Bags set up.

    I have been chasing for 27 days now after noticing. It was not until 7 days ago that they finally got back to me and set the issue to resovled stating that I would get a refund and confirmation within 24 hours.... Yes you can guess by the nature of the post that this has not yet happened.

    On Twitter they keep telling you to contact an agent.. Yes I have done this on numerous occasions..
    On the Community they tell you to contact an agent *sigh*.. Then you get the freedom fighting members who think they need to suck up to Giffgaff and tell you "contact and agent, it will all be ok"

    It is not acceptable really to be honest and I think I am going to move away despite it been the most affordable PAYG option out there with unlimited (when it works) data. But I want my double charge refunding.

    So, has anyone else had this? If you are with Giffgaff have you actually checked to see if you were double charged last month? Once by GiffGaff.co.uk and once by GiffGaff.com ?

    I had a client call earlier this week who I had previously set up with a 3G wireless modem and a giffgaff sim. For some reason their connection had been lost and rebooting the router didn't help. I rebooted and removed the sim, put it back and it fixed it. Probably completely unrelated...

    Anyway be careful not to cut off your nose to spite your face, if the service has been fine other than this one fuck up and they are the cheapest then I wouldn't move away. Keep hounding them until its sorted and you might be able to wangle a free month on top!

    I doubt they will give anything free. When they ha a major outage before all they offered was a vote for a donation to charity.

    They messed up last month also by not sending me a reminder or my monthly usage activity.

    Did they take it via direct debit? If so your bank might be the best bet.

    Had it happen to me and it was returned within 3 days
    Just use enough water to cover your vegetables,the same goes for when you're having a bath....

    Just got a call from my Auntie, I set her up with giffgaff £12.50 data sim in a 3G router in her shop as she couldn't have broadband, telephone and card machine on a single line. For some reason her charges are £25 now and that was doubled last month so she paid quadruple what she should. I'm not sure but she may be paying 2 months at a time hence the £25 but will need access to her account to check this.

    Hopefully giffgaff are quick at resolving this, I thought they would have done it automatically by now.

    Sounds like the same problem.

    Their solution, and your Auntie should do this now, is to remove her card as a payment option, turn off any recurring payments and then add the card again and turn on the recurring option.

    It worked for me this month and I was fortunately only charged once. I don't want to sound like one of the hero's on their forum, sorry 'community', but they will sort it as I found although it will take a few weeks..

    Oh and her account won't show anything. I guarantee that her bank will have one payment from giffgaff.co.uk and one from giffgaff.com, not necessarily on the same date.
