Comcast cable box & static with Bose

I have an older lifestyle Bose sound system (can't recall exact name) but recently our digital cable box was replaced and the new setup has a lot of static on the background. I can't tell if it is the cheap cables that came with the new coast digital box or if it is my aging Bose system?

Any thoughts?

I considering the new 2.1 digital Bose system or the single Bose sound bar but not sure if I will be disappointed compared to my current setup??

I'd love to hear any opinions!!
