    Film Video Playback Problems!

Am wondering if anyone can help. I have been watching films on my sumvision media player and off a usb key plugged directly into my tv for a while now with no problems. Recently however some of the x264 mkv's play for about 15 mins but then the sound cuts out followed shortly after by the picture. The films play perfect on my pc! Anyone had similar probs and any fixes.

Hope this is the right place to put this as im new to DF

    Hi there,

Are the videos HD? If so it may be that the bitrate is too high for the stick to cope with. USB isn't particularly fast. the only other thing I could think of really would be a change in the codec that is being used. Have you tried running the video through a transcoder and putting it back on the stick? If that works then it's probably the group that did the rip have changed their encoding software.

The videos are all 720p. Not tried a video transcoder any idea of a decent one? Also this problem is the same one my sumvision box with internal hd played via hdmi.
