    Help Washing machine leaking !!

    My washing machine is leaking and i have traced the problem the the filler hose the only problem is im not sure what type of putty is to be used when attaching the new one here is a picture of another hose with gunk in place..

    All so the machine is nearly 10 years old is it worth doing the brushes while its in pieces ?

    Would have thought that the type of silicon used for fish tanks will do the job. Not convinced that the sealer we can see on the outside is the only problem. Check that the pipe hasn't split around the groove where it sits in the hole. I would remove the pipe, check for a split, of ok then clean it up, then put some fresh sealant in the groove before replacing it. Rubber can also go hard over time so it may never seal properly again. Consider getting a new pipe if this is the case.

    Also well worth checking the brushes first to see if they do need replacing. (">

    Ha ha the brushes went this weekend end thankfully a local company had them in from stripping it down to getting working again including getting the part a total of 3 hrs
