    Default MacBook imap mail issues

Hi all, odd question but all of a sudden my email is not working properly. I am using the default client on a new MacBook, yahoo mail, imap (imap.yahoo.com) and outgoing smtp.imap.yahoo.com. This has always worked but stopped receiving emails today for no reason. I've checked all other settings and I'm a bit lost. Emails are fine on iPad and iPhone it's just the mac.

Any clues? Thanks in advance. Jon

    imap.mail.yahoo.com
    ssl
    port 993

    smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    ssl
    port 465

Try that mate, was setting up yahoo imap this morning, if SSd doesn't work try disabling it.

Can you send email from the mac? Perhaps the settings on the iPad have changed, check the 'remove messages from server' options. Is the iPad downloading the messages via push and deleting them from the server.

Hmm thanks mate, tried that but no joy, message returned by mail client is "imap.mail.yahoo.com" on port 993 timed out.

I've tried disabling SSL. As said I can send but not receive, very odd???

Just switched users to the missus and her account does exactly the same. This looks like a yahoo, OS lion mismatch? Tried googling for current issues and plenty of people are having issues but no fix.... Grrrr

Fixed it!!! Had to use apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com and apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com basically adding apple. In front of the imap server names!

Gawd knows why bt a BT forum had the answer

    Thanks all

Odd that you have to do it with os lion but iOS.
