I enjoy all types of beer but real ale only drinkers annoy the fuck out of me. I go and get a round of various ales and whatever I am having and one of them always decides to have a pop at what I am drinking. Would I even dream of doing the same back? Would I fuck as I am an adult who knows what I want and don't feel the need to go on about how what I do is better. I go to a couple of beer festivals a year and try a couple of porters as that is about all the real ale I like but while there I will attack the World beers and try a few strange bottled delights, suits me fine. I tend to drink dark lagers these days, so Budvar Black, Asahi Black, and those sort of things.

    Thanks to BertRoot

I drink ale twice a year really, my area is full of real ale pubs, one of my locals wins about every award going and they have 2 beer festivals a year where we see if we can drink them all over a weekend. Some are quite nice but none replace lager for me. I love Chang and the world lagers in the supermarkets are mainly awesome. Keo is the only one I don't particularly like. I assume my tastes will change as I age a bit, I have tried 3 of the 4 Ganty mentioned.

Has anyone tried Wells Banana bread beer in Tesco? Not had it for years but remember liking that.

Love a bit of Ale now and then. You get the occasion when you have had just enough Lager and so an Ale is easier to consume as well as been tasty.
Also, should you have to go on the Shandy's then an Ale Shandy is much tastier.

I make my own Ale from malt extract, grains, hops and anything else to add flavour & charactor.

I'm currenty supping on an all Apollo hop pale ale.

    5.2% abv

Very light and refreshing, nice malty body and great citrussy flavour and aroma with a nice bitter ending.

Served on draught from my corny keg fridge.

One thing that I think we could agree on is that all real ale pubs smell a bit different, well, worse than standard everything-goes pubs. Like people drop their guts from the ale.

The one I linked to earlier has some clichéd activities like the one in the poster I photographed, below:

Imagine the array of exciting cheeses.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...

When I was working in Delhi at the start of the year a supplier took me to his brothers bar - The Vapour Bar, New Delhi.
They only serve their own beers on draught and the brewey was in a glass room behind the bar.
I got talking to the owner with my interest in brewing and got a guided tour of the brewery and tasted all the ales.

You can just make out the fermenters behind the bar.

Here is a guide to making a homebrew kit into a real ale I made a while back

Fursty Ferret, Golden Glory, Golden Champion, Hopping Hare are all nice pale ale tipples.

If you have a Marstons pub near you or a pub that supports Wychwood Brewery, once the elders are in flower try a pint of Elderwych on draught.
Thats a great floral pale ale.

I have to be careful when I go on an Ale drinking session. If I have one too many Landlord then I am pretty certain to shit myself on the way home.

Yeah, I used to drink Bitter and mild before but went on to lager as most of the places didnt look after the kegs. Esp bars and clubs in town.

Used to love some of the IPA's and Joseph holts smooth...
