Yeah! I used to do that with PS1 consoles. Did mine, my cousins and a few friends. A local computer shop caught wind (Chips, they are a national franchise now, just not brilliant) and we even had them on display there.

Do i remember right, that you were doing a project to put in small MOBO's into old Nes Cases and making a mini pc?
I am intrigued on this yellow removal.
Q
Yep, I did that about 6 years ago now I think!
I put a mini ITX board into it with a wifi dongle, put a 4 port USB hub where the controller ports were.
The plan was to put a Slot DVD drive into it where the flap was but there was not enough space, however with some of the boards now this would be easy but you don't need a drive any more!
I sold it on eBay I think , didn't really get what I wanted for it but made my money back. I would love to do it again and make a Mame machine... Saying that I am waiting for the Retron 5 to be released and with a bit of luck you will be able to install Mame onto that?

Retron is an ugly thing. Shame.
But an addition of Mame would be good
You had a play with any of these ?

Wow, a bit pricey...

Yep, they are.

Interesting thread. So how did you get on with the clean up? Would like to clean some of my consoles and controllers up but don't fancy gassing myself to death. Any ready made solutions available?
Also I have both a N64 Everdrive and a SNES everdrive. They're excellent. N64 is 100% compatible but SNES needs extra chips for the likes of Mario Kart, Starwing etc.
Oh and on my to-do list is a mini-pc built from an old SNES case I have. So definitely want to get rid of the yellowing before starting that. I'm going to use something like Hyperspin and have XBMC on there also
There is an old thread of mine on here where I put a PC into a NES case.
Not sure if the photo links are still active, I do have them somewhere. This was with a mini ITX board, it was snug but it could be much better with some of the newer micro ITX or even a Raspberry Pi today!
As for cleaning the consoles... I am still to get around to it Sorry all but I have the kit and will do it.
