Default Last minute Amsterdam cheap accommodation?

Never been before, always wanted to and the fact Chelsea have made the Europa final gives me the perfect excuse. I have got £60 return flights (not booked yet, just waiting to see if my mate can get it off work) so will need to sort out accommodation. Loads of my mates frequent the dam but wanted some more opinions too. Not looking for anything special, a decent hostel or small twin/double room would do us. I know a lot don't take bookings so will have to chance it but the flights land at half 6 so might be pushing it to find a vacancy, we won't have loads of time to hunt around as we will have to get to the game.

Any advice appreciated! We will probably be there for 4 or 5 nights.

The Outback Pub on Rembrandstplein has cheap accommodation and is very lively of an evening and will be great after the final!

    Thanks to chesser

Seriously a lot are shit places. At a time when football is on, you are gonna be stretched to find a place that's decent, available and good value.

Be prepared for shite quality, expensive or 30 min tram rides from anywhere.

Best to book before you go, even if you don't end up staying there. Call it a fall back plan.

    http://www.hotel-abba.nl/ - Shite but cheap.

http://www.booking.com/hotel/nl/crow...1d8f2c7;dcid=1 - Very nice, not so cheap and 20 mins on the tram into town.

http://www.booking.com/hotel/nl/apol...1d8f2c7;dcid=1 - Very nice, not so cheap and 15 mins on the tram into town.

Try priceline.co.uk / booking.com name your own price.

Depending on your budget per night its worth giving it a go.

Been to Amsterdam twice and paid £45 a night for a 4* NH Hotel.
Im sure you could get a cheap deal on a 3*.

    Thanks to vgopal

All hotels in Amsterdam are bloody extortionate, you pay 50 for 30 mins, and just when you doze off the receptionist lady shoos you out

Try something like airbnb.co.uk, either rent an apartment or stay in a room in someone's house. Although if you are going to be on the piss and come back bollocksed, it might be better to book a hotel.

From my experience do not go without booking something if it's going to be busy. I believe Chelsea's allocation is only 10,000, but there'll be at least 20,000 Chelsea fans on the look for some accommodation, although only about 6 fans will turn up from Portugal.

Found the ideal thing for 2.................https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/362579

Another for airbnb.com just stayed at a top notch place in Haarlemerstraat, I will up a link later, hot tub, sauna, cinema screen and iPhone app for lights etc, worked out 200 per night with all costs
City centre, sauna, roof terrace was in the title
