    Default Projector

    Right,

Been on the look for one. Lost out on potentially a couple of bargains lately but I do not want to pay over the odds.
At the end of the day it is to play the SNES and N64 on. These ones seem to do a lot more and have connections to cope with HD signals (although not display the HD image).

For £109 with a free bulb, yes I know it is only 800:1 contrast and probably not the best but I don't need it to be:

At the end of the day it is the price of a replacement bulb on a higher end model.

Has anyone seen these in action?

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

    Thanks to wakadoo

I was reading the Amazon reviews that were 50/50

Some people expect high end for low end price.. I know it is not going to be fantastic and will require a dark room. I can live with that.

he has the screen over a window with sunlight on the back of it, odd as I thought that would make the picture look dull, so in a dark room I bet it looks quite nice.

I'd say go for it. Contrast ratios are very misleading anyway in my experiences. If those videos are anything to go by I would say it's a decent enough projector. It's obviously not going to compete with the high end ones but for a bit of retro gaming and the odd footy match looks great.

I am trying my luck on a few others first on eBay to see if I can get a bargain, failing that I will be grabbing one of these next week hopefully.

Yeah I don't need all that fancy HD though. The Snes and N64 are going into it

Any news mate? You must be itching now lol.

Just a quicky though. I used to have a Compaq projector that wasn't HD but it had a VGA port on it. 360 games looked pretty good over it at 1024x768 using the XBox VGA cable. Only problem with that projector was that it wasn't a widescreen one but it would project up to about 90" and I got it for free so I wasn't too worried

Not yet, to be honest I'm so busy with house DIY it's not at the top of the list right now (time and financially), however every day I am on Ebay looking for a bargain. I keep losing out by a couple of quid which is annoying.

I expect by the weekend I will have won one and will update as soon as I have.

Got a weekend off this weekend, mates coming to town so we will power up the consoles and have a blast. I might even get around to cleaning them up!
