    Advice Budapest

    Hello,

    I am off to Budapest in 2 weeks.

    I was about to change my money into the Hungarian fonts or whatever they are and noticed on the post office website recommended currency for travellers is US dollars?

    Can any one clarify this?

    thanks

    I took forints too, about 4 years ago. They generally tell you to get travelers cheques in dollars, are you sure that's not what they meant?

    Budapest in the summer will be awesome, the women looked hot in January when I went, fuck knows what they'll be like mid summer!

    Make sure you check out a bar called Szimpla Kert, its quite hidden away but its really famous so will be easy to get a cab there.

    Thanks to {{909}}

    That bar is pretty good, also check out the dream islands too plenty of clubs etc taxis were cheap too. Stay clear of A38 bar on the river its shit and full of kids (apparently best bar in the world 2012 lonely planet i think)
    Check out Bhudda-bar it nice and chilled and has fast free wifi and ice cold air con.

    Thanks to stevo25

    Are the women approachable? Or, like in most countries, avoid the Englishman?

    Apparently they're friendly, most of the time I found their English wasn't so good, or maybe my English wasn't so good after throwing a continuous stream of beer down my neck for 3 days.

    we found a buffet style restaurant, cant remember where but it had loads of Fois-gras which we ate, and unlimited local beers and fizzy wine for roughly £30. We booked transport in uk to Budapest as we had a hostel sorted, it was my brothers stag weekend and we did lots of drinking and shooting range http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...l_Hungary.html
    I liked the place so much would consider taking "our lass" and take swim wear and check out some of the bath houses and or Gellert Spa I think there is another near heroes square too.

    Thanks to stevo25
