Hi all,


Mate of mine is having issues with his Skybox and Amp/ His amp is an Onkyo 606. If he puts the F5 he gets a picture but no sound.
If he puts the F5 direct to the TV he gets sound but no picture (Pioneer Kuro Plasma) !


Very strange that he gets Sound one way and Audio the other but not both together... He did have similar issues with his Sky HD box and also Apple TV 3 come to think of it..


He is not the most tech savvy guy on the planet and I have tried to debug on the phone but I am 250 miles away!


Any clues?

Whats the advantages of updating the channel list is it better set out or what does it do.

Frequency changes mean that unless you update the channels lists some wont clear at all.

What do you mean, Do you mean they will show up but not be useable/working.

What box like the skybox (similarly priced)has a good epg. Not for me as i'd just use an app ?

Yes they wontwork....BT Sport is a recent example they changed frequency and then obviously they wouldnt clear as its the wrong channel so you need an updated channel list!!

I dont think any similarly priced box has a 7 day epg you will need a Vu+ or similar!

They move frequencies quite often and usually the channel will just end up black/dead. the powers that be release an updated channel list which has all the correct working frequencies etc, ive done a site which will host all the latest channel dbs files. the best thing about my site is the fact that i test the channel dbs first to make sure it does not fuck the boxes up, so any downloads from me will always be 100%.

ive had 3/4 channel updates from various sources that have fucked up my skybox and luckily i bought a recovery kit.

small bits of freezing every now and then is normal m8 depending on your supplier, anything that gets annoying is not normal.
