Cheers you must get like an editor for the dbs files as it would make it easier rather than having to sort then out one at a time.

i backed up my old files and put on a new one but it was all over the place so i just went back to the old one till i find a solution.

Dets tutorial comes in handy as it made it simple but then it is quite a simple task on these boxes nothing seems complicated.

    Thanks to diablos

Another question if i switch my TV off after a wee while my box seems to switch off and when i switch back on the tv is blank and the remote doesn't reboot the box, i have to pull the power cable to get it back on, This to me seems like there is a problem with my box.

If i leave it on recording it seems to stay on.

Sounds like the box possibly, might be worth a firmware update?

I have a little bit if freezing on my box but I think the issue is the Apple Airport than feeds the Ethernet to it is not in good range to my main router. Going to have a move around tonight.

Never even tried to record at all! Anything I need to 'obtained' in other ways although I do have a HD plugged into it so I can pause Live TV if needed. Again never tried this yet.

I think that the max the F5 does is two hours, so you'll have to set up two different timers for more than 2 hours. Ensure your USB or HDD is formatted as FAT32 though. I found only USB Class10 will read and write HD programs properly on the F5. But now use a 2.5" external USB powered HD.

Of the top of my head press the record button twice quickly and it should give you a timer and adjust it there.

My skybox f5s records on ntfs no problem. I thought as you did it would only be Fat 32.

All the guides say drives have to be formatted in FAT32? Maybe it is a reliability thing or maybe the firmware can handle it now?

I can get everything i need as well, but for me the skybox is just a wee learning curve for not a lot of cash plus even if the thing dies i will still have an HD Freeview box.

It will may even be my first tiny step into the sat scene.

If your drive is formatted to Fat32 the recording length is nothing to do with recording time its the file size! Aint there a 4GB limit?
