Hi new to site
hope this is in the correct thread

i have sky f3 box .just upgraded the software and now I have GPRS app
installed on the box can anyone tell what the GPRS does on this box

From what I understand GPRS is another way for it to connect online.
So, you would put a SIM card in, put in your network settings (can be found elsewhere) and then your connected rather than using Ethernet or the Wifi Dongles that do not work at all.

Then you can watch You Tube etc.

Enjoyed a great deal for 12 months, but no longer want dig deep for the crap $ky put on repeat.

I've just gone for a f5s this weekend Uncle Dec gave me some wonderful advice and I was fully up and running in no time at all. I'd read loads about other boxes but decided to see how this one goes for the cash you can't go wrong. I suppose the big stumbling block is if and when old sly pull the ability to share. Icurrently have the basic sly package, ATV2 with Xbmc and a subscription to Adlive for the football. The wife wants to keep sly as she can record emmerdale and Corrie to watch at her leisure. Going to see how it goes over the next month or so, plus I do need to get fibre installed.

It'a real shame we can edit the favs lists on the PC and transfer them to the F5 box. Only thing that does my head in is getting my favs back in order after an updated CL.

Had quite a bit of glitching this weekend on the footy, nothing to crazy though.

Have you had much success with the timer function?

I set a USB powered 320GB external HD to record to with two timers. Maximum limit is 2 hours, so did 12-2am and then 02:01 till 4am. Only the first timer worked for some reason, and couldn't have done it in HD as it wasn't playing back properly.

Anyone had any real success with the timers?
