Quick question, iOS7 installing now. Can I restore my 6.x backup on to it ?

just save a bit of time configuring the mail accounts etc. that's all.

    cheers,

I did mate but do the back up locally cos the cloud takes forever to restore from

Ooops that advice was a bit late as you were already restoring.. however the mad
rush on the cloud should have subsided by now since it's been out for a bit

backup successfully restored, it's just resyncing apps but everything seems happy

By jiggery it's fast and the fluidity is smoother than ever.

I read an article by someone I follow on twitter describing how they have removed all of the 3d effects. You can see that from the moment you switch on as even the apple logo is flat and lost it's steel look.

He covers it all pretty well tbh http://mattgemmell.com/2013/06/12/ios-7/

I particularly like his description of both the industry and the users as all grown up, saying we no longer need to be hand held when driving a UI. Horses for courses of course, it won't (and will never) be for everyone. You will either like it or you won't and it's neither right nor wrong because of this. It just is what it is.

    cheers,

    malty

I've just uninstalled and reinstalled the eBay app but it still crashes on launch - can you folks try it to see if its a beta thing or just something on mine please?

I get about ten resprings a day at least at the moment!

Seems quite a few apps just don't like the new version - I wonder what it is they do as HSBC had issues with the 6.x betas too.

Sky Go is usually the awkward one but seems fine for me

What apps are you having problems with other than eBay ? I've only found that one so far but I haven't played much.

My banking one (Nationwide) is fine so are Facebook and tweetbot. There isn't much else I use a lot so haven't discovered them yet.

MyNZB has issues with categories, IMDB will bomb out a lot - try searching for Man of Steel and it will die.

the phone app quite often crashes after one ring, iMessages I get various display issues where it will wrap text back over the top of itself, other than that it's pretty random so far!

    Thanks to reverend

I think these are things you expect when playing with a beta. I'm happy at the moment but if I start dropping calls tomorrow during work I can see me going back to 6.1.4

theres a few apps not working ebay / bejewelled blitz on mine, but as its beta its not bothering me the other aspects outweigh a little issue of none working apps for now.

Cant wait for the full version, cos the guys who do the cracking apparently aint bothering no more until iso7 has been released.
Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

It's probably the most bleeding edge code that Apple have ever released to devs so far!

And typically it was calls from my boss that crashed!

This one expires July 24th so the next version should be out by then

I haven't had any dropped calls on mine at all, mostly display issues. Drop down boxes in Chrome are usually empty. It also detects my lightning cable as non-authentic although it still charges with it
