ooh that's an interesting one. They did that with the old 3rd party video out cables.

Luckily I only had one 3rd party lightning cable and some twat stole it off my desk in work

tried that. next day in work down to 10% on leaving. It's ok it lasts the day (just about) and that'll do.

I don't really like disabling stuff on smartphones just to get more battery as I think what's the point of having a smartphone then ?

Really liking the new messaging client and the contacts app. The calendar isn't nearly as useful as the old one doesn't seem to show appointments on the month to view.

The control centre is excellent once you remember it's there. Just as it should be.

The lock screen notifications are very slick now. Proper apple

Having similar problems with battery life on my 5. Usually down to 60-70% by bedtime (charge all day in work), now around 30-40%, roughly halved.

Also, it's using approx. double battery life when I am out on my bike using MapMyRide compared to iOS6.

I'm sure these will be ironed out, but if it's not by the last beta I will revert to 6 until the battery issue is solved I think.

I've got to admit I haven't really noticed much of a change in battery life on my 5, although saying that I have been working at home - I'm in the office today so I'll see what's left at the end of the day

I did read some stuff saying that folks had terrible battery life for the first two charges and then it went back to normal - not sure if that's bollocks or not but you never know - maybe it's like in the past where the upgrade has buggered push mail so it's just nailing the servers with requests and killing the battery?

There is some truth in that 2 charge cycles thing because I had that on an android phone years ago. It would appear shite then all of a sudden be ok. I'll report again at the end of the day.

It's one of the most bug-free betas I've ever used though. Many manufacturers would have no qualms releasing this as is.

I do hope they improve the calendar month view tho...

I have one strange thing that's happening with my apps. They seem to be working fine one moment then some of them have changed to "waiting", which means I can't seem to open them. I can't delete them or anything. I have then got to go to iTunes, remove the app, then reinstall it.

However, I've also noticed - if I go to app store it will say the app is installed, and I can press open and it will work that way ???

Really? I think it's the buggiest version of iOS I've ever seen and I used the dev program betas for two years?

I'm wondering now if maybe I should start afresh - just wish they'd make it easier just to bring the messages database over to a newly flashed phone!

You have them set to auto update. They will go to waiting while they're in the queue for an update.

Attention Re: Upgrade to iOS7 now!

OK gang.. fix for battery issues I discovered through the dev forum.. I didn't believe it till I tried it.
I ran up a system tools app with all running apps first closed down to check cpu usage and it was steady at 65%!
So.. settings . general > international > language and change it to sometinhg else like Austarlian English..
I did this and usage dropped to less than 20% .. change it back to British english and still down to 20 or less!..

weird I know but many people on the forum report this has cured it..
added benefit is that it now runs much smoother than before

    supe

BTW Phone now runs uber-cool whereas before it was a hand warmer...

Looking at the control centre, they stole it from SBSettings! One more reason not to need to JB.

i think the control centre is better than sb settings has been for a while. It kinda stood still after it's initial success.

It's a bit more akin to intelliscreen-x with it's toggle bar thing but even that's not as good.

I'm very excited to see the next beta.

Did the fix suggested changing international to another country and back and it hasn't helped in my case.

Reverted back to iOS 6 at the weekend. Couldn't be doing with the battery life on the original beta.

To be fair mate mine improved everyday - it was hooked up all day to a Pebble via BT and yesterday it was still at 60% at the end of the day whereas the first few days it was down to 20%
