HTC Desire cluster fuck.

Hello,

I think i've managed to screw my rooted Desire.

I took the memory card out from the phone and formatted it (so no chance of data recovery) since I took the memory card out the phone is in a continuous loop. I can get into recovery but for the life of me I don't know what to do next.

I've put a new memory card into the phone.

Any idea's on what I should do?

I'll upload a repair image to my Ubuntu one accoutn, put this on the memory card and boot into Hboot mode, it should sort it.

Put this file on your memory card and boot into Hboot mode, (not fastboot) and it should find the file and install Australian firmware onit. you can then connect it to HTC sync and update the firmware. That's what I did with my HTC desire last year. This is for the HTC desire, not Desire C or Desire HD, also mine was the SLCD version, not AMOLED and it had S-ON

I had the same problem with my wifes phone. Bit of reading suggested the mobo was overheating and it's a known fault. Didn't bother doing anything with the phone although dl'ing your file now (taking ages) so will report back. Thanks.

All fixed with hboot and a reflash. lost all my data though. Such is life.

Mine reflashed ok but is now stuck on the htc boot screen.

Wadgey, run it through again, if it doesn't work then see if you can get it into recovery mode and put another custom flash on, you might have the earlier AMOLED ones and those have been known to not work with this file sometimes
