Networked the main rooms of my house years ago. Ran all the cables around the outside of the house because it was easier, and I didn't want cables in view and collecting dust inside. They are neat and tidy on the outside, and where possible run along the mortar paths between the bricks so don't really notice them. (">
Thanks for the support guys!! The only reason I quote Category 6A or Category 7 Shielded is because I'm in the infrastructure business and have been for 25years and I know the way things will go with video/audio over Ethernet. Cat5e is very inexpensive indeed and its pence so you could always use this option. Your gain is flexibility and an FUTUREPROOF installation.
I'm diverting my knowledge of my industry over the years and you can find me @digital_plumber or @_avicci and where part of the #liveinstall team on twitter at the forefront of the new CI/Home Automation industry . Please follow me, support me, and contact me regarding any of the above for a infrastructure smarter home.

I used to use the Ethernet boxes when I worked in post production. We're very very pricey back then however!
We all make mistakes sometimes
Sorry my mistake Geko. What infrastructure did you install?
I'm sorry i'm taking the pov from a customers install, 4/5 bed house would have major impact on cost.
if you want future i would go down the route of fiber, cost is coming down all the time a massive bandwidth compared to copper.
Whos going to rip a fully uncompressed 4K movie and how long will would it take?
I installed 6a.
I won't be messing with fibre. I'm sure by the time cat 6 isn't substantial enough, they'll be some leaps forward with encoding or intelligent switches or something.
