GPS keeps coming on

I've been using an S4 since it came out and I've had no issues until the last couple of days.

I normally switch GPS on/off from drop down notification bar but now it's got a mind of it's own and keeps randomly coming on and draining my battery!

I've unistalled all the apps that I've recently installed but that doesn't seem to have done the trick.

Does anyone have any ideas?


The funny thing is that I've got an automation app called tasker which doesn't have access to GPS settings from android 2.3, so how can some other app be switching it on............

I had the same issue a few weeks ago on my note 2, i cleared all the apps, holding down the home button, swiped them all and then restarted the phone, no issues since! Worth a try?

The iPhone does it for the clock but you can disable it.
Could be your clock? Or do you have Google Now installed, that is another that will constantly connect.

I have a Nexus 4, so admittedly a different phone. But, I just leave my GPS on and it doesn't affect my battery.

I've been trying everything now I'm working my way through deleting app by app and checking if it helps.

Soon I'm only going to be able to make calls with it.

I've deleted all the weather widgets but it still has a mind of its own
