Default David Haye Agrees To Fight Tyson Fury

David Haye has announced he has signed to fight Tyson Fury on September 28th.

The fight between the two British heavyweights has been mooted for sometime, with both fighter's camps reported to have been in talks for months.

Haye posted a video on his Instagram account, signing the papers for a fight, scheduled for September 28th but it has yet to be confirmed whether Fury has agreed to face Haye for the first time.

Haye wrote, "I've just signed to fight Fury on Sep 28, let's hope he finally agrees (and signs today) and he doesn't keep delaying.

"Word around camp fire is Fury is looking to duck me and fight Toney 'The Tiger'. Let's hope they are just rumours ..."

There have been rumours that Fury, a former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, may choose to fight Tony Thompson ahead of Haye.

If the fight does go ahead, it would be the just time Haye has returned to the ring since beating Derek Chisora at Upton Park a year ago.

Been following Tyson Fury for a number of years now, being a Manchester lad he's got uncles related to my uncles etc so always had a soft spot for him.
Never a pretty fighter and doesn't have much in the way of potential to excel himself into new echelons.

However, he's game, and the HW division in Boxing is fucking shite for a number of years now.

He's been trying to fight everyone this year, Haye, Chisora, Price, Vlad and Vit and also Cain Valsequez (UFC HW Champion..)

It's rumoured to be at the MEN in Manchester, so local to me, will be a fucking brilliant night I think. He'll get smashed by Haye, as Haye is far too quick and has a heavy right hand, but that can all change with Fury is leaning on you with a heavy jab and uppercut (as long as he's not hitting himself HAHA!)

Think it's a great fight in terms of publicity for Haye, his chance to add someone to his highlight reel and good for Fury as it'll be one of the biggest names he's fought to date.

Say what you want about Fury, he's certainly got himself into shape in the last two years.

Haye Isn't a power puncher and I don't think Fury could hit Haye as his speed will be on a different level. On paper Haye should win easily

Yeah, depending how serious Haye takes it, he's far too quick for Fury. My money will be going on Haye, but with boxing you never know mate, only takes one lucky punch from Fury, if the big idiot can land it.

Haye is a world class fighter, but I don't think he's a natural heavyweight. Too small to trouble the Klitschko's. He should see off Fury though.

    Who's he fought?

He's a class way above Fury, but Haye by no means is world class.

I thought you might say that..

could only beat what's infront of him in the cruiser-weight division, And did...

He fought and battered chisora. Who made vitali klitschko struggle..

although i admit, We are in a shit Heavyweight era..

But haye imo is top 3 in the world.... And i believe will avange the klitschko's if given a chance...

In class of fighters of years gone by, he's no way fucking neat world class. He's only classed as this now as the divison is shit.

Fury has been dropped by fighters with a lot less power and speed as Haye.

Can only see one winner in this unless fury can somehow last the first 4 rounds without taking a big one

Haye will outpace and outbox him. Haye is obviously world class as he was a world champ, but he just didn't have the right plans in place when he fought Klitschko.

I think if he fought him again it would be a different story. Would love to see that instead of him fighting these other british wannabe bums.

The heavy weight division is not what it has been in the past but it is what it is, I would not be writing off Tyson Fury in this fight as Haye is giving away a lot of height, reach and weight advantage and anyone who has actually done any fighting in any form other than a keyboard will know just giving away a few pounds makes a difference never mind the amount he will no doubt be giving away. I know he beat Valuev but he was a lot slower and more predictable than Fury so don't think a lot can be made of that fight.

    • Haye has the harder punch
    • Fury has the better reach and jab
    • Haye is quicker
    • Fury has the weight advantage
    • Haye's stamina has been called into question before but so has Fury's
    • Haye has a good chin
    • Fury can be put down but his recovery rate is good
    • Haye is more experienced
    • Fury is much younger
    • Haye has been out of the ring a lot longer
    • Fury got put down in his last fight
    • Haye is on the decline
    • Fury is still improving

I can't really pick a winner although I lean slightly to Haye as for the Haye vs Klitschko fight I was very disappointed and think he got to about the 6th and just decided to get to the end rather than try and get the win and the reason I say this is he looked like he could have gone another 5 rounds at the end of the fight and should have left everything in the ring and really gone for it.

He also gave away a lot more height, weight and reach to Valuev but that didn't stop him rocking him in his boots

I would also say in that fight if you watched it the commentators didn't have him winning and apart from when he rocked him it reminded me a bit of the Herbie Hide vs Riddick Bowe fight although Valuev was a lot slower and less mobile than Riddick Bowe, I am not knocking him for the tactics he did what he had to do (just) but don't see it as any sort of benchmark for the Fury fight as he won't dance round Fury so easily.
