YLOD is an easy fix. Follow the YouTube Videos and DIY, save yourself £35.
Chances are, you'll pay these places and it'll only last a few months and go again anyway.
Yeah I cant see them doing a reball for £35 so you would be as well reflowing it by putting it in your own oven ;-)
I asked them and they replied its a reball. I agree it sounds too cheap.
Somone on ebay offering what seems a good service. Is it anyone from here? lol

Found this on youtube from the ps3pro company.

If that's them in the vid then looks like they got it down to a fine art so worth the £35 punt I suppose ;-) make sure they do the reball tho ;-)
Deffo going to use them and see what happens.

No way is £35 a ps3 reball, I do them and its not an easy one to do....
(Yes the video shows a reball (Some balls not taken to the gpu properly but hey ho...) but in reality they might just be doing reflows, Whats the warranty?)
Heat gun....... dont waste your time, your only damaging your board in the long run.

Taken from their Site....
Thats a reflow not Reball....If when switching your unit on from standby mode, the LED goes from red to green, bleeps, and flashes yellow (quickly) and then back to red again, you have what is known as the YLOD or Yellow Light of Death. This fault with the PlayStation becomes more common as the unit increases in age. The most likely cause of the YLOD is that the unit has overheated and caused a fractured or cold solder joint between the motherboard and GPU. This is repaired by a full disassembly of the unit, placement of the mother board in a drying room in controlled conditions then a reworking of the GPU with our infra-red BGA reworking station. Once this has been carried out, the unit is then re-assembled, a new thermal compound is applied to the to the GPU and CPU, and the unit is tested.
Hi
yes a guy did my m8s laptop gpu and said it was a reball and was only a reflow. seems this is common practice

Dear Lord, please grant me the ability to punch people in the face over Standard TCP/IP
This is why I would only trust members here or verified firms.
I did email them and they said Reball, but i guess thats just the sales talk
I'de also be willing to bet that £35 is for a reflow, I used to do a lot of reballing of consoles and there is no way I would do it for £35, a reflow yes, reball no. However I wouldn't even entertain a reflow as they are not worth the time IMHO.
Reball is the way to go hands down.
QfantiQ, who are you referring to?
think he means AD
Ad's credentials look ace, but for the proper fix its close to the price of a used ps3 hence looking at other alternatives.
Says who I am quoting
Indeed!
So, either stump up for a second hand, internal condition known machine.
Or send it away with confidence.
Or save the money and get a deposit down on the PS4
I am always a fan of paying for quality, even if it means saving and waiting a while longer.
Good luck, whatever your choice.

The end of the day I always tell the customer if you are bothered about spending said amount to repair it compared to a new one,
I always advise get the new one as you have 12 months warranty and you can take out extra warranty and sell your faulty one on the bay for spares or repair.
Reballing a ps3 isnt easy and it is time consuming, unless you have a nice supply of preballed gpus... (Not found a decent supplier of Ps3 gpus yet..)
