    Default BT Youview

    Howdy,

Before I call BT, any existing BT customers here have a Youview?
I have been with BT many years, had BT Vision but cancelled it when we moved as we never used it to be honest.

Now that we get BT sport, I would like to watch it on the TV rather than on the iPad or PC linked to the TV.
Question is, has anyone called them for a box recently? Will they charge or ask me to sign up to anything?

I think the box is free but you have to pay a £49 activation fee if I remember correctly...

    Cool, but monthly fee?

I have posted in the BT sport thread too as I have found out they are (apparently) doing cards for Freesat/Freeview.

Youview has the ability to go back in time for the last 7 days on any channel I believe.

They can keep their £5, I am holding out to see what happens with the Freeview/Freesat cards the woman claimed earlier.

It works only on the channels that have an appropriate player i.e bbc iplayer.

The tv guide shows the play symbol on progs that can be viewed, and when you choose a prog and press play the player boots up and the prog starts.

    Thanks to andmor

Ahhh! Really? That's a bit misleading then. It is basically the same as their app on, say Samsung Smart tv then? 'Cos that is quite terrible imo. For example, when there's been two episodes of Corrie (I know, sorry!) on in one night, doesn't matter which episode you try to select, it always plays the 2nd one! Anybody else notice this? Glad I didn't ring up for the Youview now...
