Mac DTP/design software

Can anyone recommend some DTP/design software for my misses ?

She's interested in designing things like wedding invitations, cards and general card craft.

Any suggestions ?

I don't think you can really beat the Adobe creative suite/cloud stuff, although genuine copies are expensive and the learning curve is quite steep.

she's really creative and could probably make the best out of anything but i'm not going to be paying 100's for a licence.

It doesn't have to be pro level software, just something she can get her teeth into.

You could try Pages apples word processing app. Can do some DTP style stuff with it, and its only £15

The first thing we looked at was Pages but it seems more geared to making "pages" as in books, leaflets and magazines.

I see there are bajillions of add on toolkits for it on the app store so there's probably something on there that will suit her.

She's just gone on maternity leave (6 weeks left on the clock!!) and needs something to get her teeth into or she will go loopy sat in the house on her own !
