Had a week exploring the Cornish coastline. No cycling but got back today and managed to fit in an hour this evening. Very wet out there...

Another turbo trainer session to keep the legs turning as didn't have enough time for a proper ride.

A bit more intense than the other day.

Over the summer I lost just over a stone but managed to put it back on when our baby was born due to the missus being ill so I was being a full time dad and a full time carer so had no time to exercise and put it all back on and a bit more on top but now I'm back doing something regularly again I've re lost about 16lb. I'm determined to keep it up this time.

Forgot to log this yesterday. Managed to wrangle a spare hour (a rare thing these days) so got an hour's cycling in.

A bit of an upside down ride this one, usually I start off slowly and finish fast, this was the opposite.

Managed to get a night off so was up bright and early this morning and had time for a decent ride. I feel I'm starting to get some of my summer speed back so should be in good shape once the weather begins to warm up.

    Yesterday's ride..

Stopped to help some ladies in distress after a few miles, Out of 6 cyclists all wearing brand new kit and riding brand new bikes, they had three punctures, no pump, no tubes, no tools, no repair kit and no phone. Funny.

My ride was a very very damp one but still enjoyable. I just wish my feet would warm back up once wet...

Didn't feel up for a ride today but the missus talked me into it and once out I really enjoyed it and kept adding bits on to make it longer.

Clocked up 30 miles in the end but have a broken spoke to show for it Good job my new wheels should be here in the next couple of days.

Stunning weather today, apart from the ever present energy sapping wind from the south. Long white clouds and clear skies turned the Gloucestershire countryside from grey and Brown to green and blue. Absolutely stunning.

Tough going on the outward leg, averaging about 14.5 against the wind, upping to just below 16 average by the time I'd got home.

Lovely out there, shame I only had an hour free.

Good to see your still at it.
My running is going well but bike suffering with the new arrival.
Currently got a first degree tear of my calf which is slowing me down (I should stop to be honest), but I've adjusted my style to look after it.

Done two 21km this year so far, both in my normal time bracket. Have set a new 10km personal best too.

Last year was injury free, this year I feel is going to be different.

I'm trying to train for the Manchester to Blackpool ride but the weather is fucking awful.
Getting a new bike next month when work's Cycle to Work scheme opens, 60 miles on the mountain bike would be a right bastard!
Have decided to get one of these bad boys, full Shimano Tiagra groupset for £500. Bargain!!!

Can't get out as much as I'd like due to work although I have a week off next week so am hoping for a ride a day. Nice to see you back.

That's a similar spec to my Pinnacle which was £540 and I'm still delighted with around 1000 miles on. Go for it.

As for the weather, it's ridiculous at that moment. I don't mind the rain at all but the wind is relentless making trips one way excruciating and the other way too easy. I pray for a windless day !

The best ride in ages and my first 17+ average in ages.

Not a breath of wind. I wish every day could be like this weather wise. Not too cold, not wet and not windy.

I am over dressing for my early morning runs. I need to ditch the compression tights for compression shorts and lose the hat/gloves.
They say Winter is Coming on Game of Thrones, I think they are full of it this year.

Anyway, still carrying a 1st degree tear of my left calf, but I have put KT tape on it (which is fantastic).
Today's 15km run (now my 'small' run) is the best in a while in terms of pace during the recovery. I have another 15km planned for Thursday and then 21km on Saturday which will be my 3rd 21km of the year.

I am back on the bike also on the Turbo Trainer so it's full steam ahead.
