I bought a mag 250 on monday just set it up there now first impressions its not a bad wee box . It came with iptv test on it all though there is no HD channels the SD ones are decent. Ive been watching for near 2 hours and its been dead on. Although the reason I bought it was for JSC but the Guy i got it of says it wont be active until footy kick off weekend. Here is a couple of screen shots the slight blur is the app on the phone and not the box
Looking good. The pricing is still a little high for me to fully commit though.

How's the Mag250? There's a newer one out, but I haven't been able to find a stockist. If it's good, might have to keep my eyes open for one.

I'll let Bobo say how much he paid. But there's a link to a box in my initial post.

Edit - I just missed out on one at £45. Most are around the £80 mark though.

£80 is box only. Subs are somewhat expensive. Most are around the £400 a year mark. It's what puts me off.

My JSC has been activated quailty is not that bad its certainly not hd but the quailty is really good and english audio here is a couple of screen shots also bear in mind I'm watching it on a 60inch tv. The cost of the box was £80 but the running costs are expensive it's about £400 for the season. Give or take a few Quid

If it's not HD, I will probably go for the cheaper option of watching it online with a VPN. But I'm still interested in IPTV and will keep reading. Probably pick a box up for one of the cheaper packages.

So do you know where the actual stream is coming from? Worried that anyone can just cut off the feed. From what i can see its a satellite feed being broadcasted over LAN. Just like CS in a way.

Surely there is a way of adding IP streams on dreambox bouquet.

It is almost as simple as you say. But.... For Sky for example, a sky box is needed for every channel. So the setup costs are rather large. I have a 24 Sky channel IPTV System at work. It requires 24 boxes, 24 cards and 24 encoders.

Like you say, it can be cut off at any time. Hence my reluctance to pay £400 up front.

An enigma 2 box can stream IPTV channels. But not all of them. They have to be a specific streaming type. Most require a dedicated IPTV STB with a specific firmware.

That is an enigma 2 box. But it will only pick up streams for enigma 2 boxes. I believe there are plugins for these boxes to do that. But I have never done it.

What the fuck is an eigma box? lol

The VU boxes are enigma 2. And it probably wasn't the best timing to buy one now.

When I sort my VIP out, I'll post a thread in there of all the different options I have found for football after CS. But I don't want to stick it in the open forum.

You want to watch football on the cheap ?
1. Cheap 2nd hand laptop with hdmi out -
2. download the http://hola.org/ plugin and install it (Firefox or Chrome)
3. Sing up to Aljazeerasport (Using the above plugin as a kind of free vpn....) $135 for the year for all channels
There you go you have more sport than you could watch for an outlay of less than £200 - you could even chuck in a windows media remote and away you go happy as larry.
After that the ongoing cost is the yearly sub which is peanuts at $135
