    Default A Decent IPTV box

I've been looking at IPTV solutions to replace my dependency on satellite. Can anyone recommend a decent box?

I was looking at the Mag 250 Micro. But... It gets some bad reviews on Amazon.com.

Maybe the technology is still a little too new?

This is pretty cheap, but has some poor reviews on Amazon.com.

Edit - Although maybe I can just use my Revo that I am running XBMC on currently?

Would also like this solution.. as we all know a certain method of TV may soon come to an end and I have no intention of Sky or Virmin as I dont like being forced to subscribe to a thousand channels when I actually only want about 10..
I think a big shake up is on the horizon as IPTV becomes more accessible and may even knock Sky off the top spot.. that would be nice !

I am looking into this area myself, but there does not seem to be much Hardware around does there?

When it does take off on a bigger scale do we not expect Sky to start crying and somehow get a block on it?

All I am interested in doing is watching football, I just resent the fact that you can watch whatever Premier League match you want elsewhere across the globe, but they have nothing like that over here. I know they worry about attendances at games etc, I mean I have a season ticket for Sunderland but I'd love to be able to watch a high quality legal stream for the away games.

That's all I am after. A decent quality stream of sport channels including the EPL.

Isn't it strange that we live in a time of globalisation and we are stuck with a different price plan to the rest of Europe and The World.

    ^^^

I have seen them. But I'm loathed to stick £400 up front.

    I'd be happy with £20 a month.

I'm looking at SuperIPTV Server. But haven't found much yet. I'm looking at a spark box.

That mag 250 looks alright. Might take a blast at one they seem cheap enough. And if I dont like it I suppose I can flog it on.

Yeah. I am thinking that too. I've found a few servers too. But most want $400 up front. Which is too much if it drops out in a few days. I'll probably try out the server I sent you that lets you try 3 days for a few quid.

Although I have found that you can get an online JSC account, direct from Al Jazeera for £88, if you use a VPN to appear in the Middle East.

I bought a mag 250 on monday just set it up there now first impressions its not a bad wee box . It came with iptv test on it all though there is no HD channels the SD ones are decent. Ive been watching for near 2 hours and its been dead on. Although the reason I bought it was for JSC but the Guy i got it of says it wont be active until footy kick off weekend. Here is a couple of screen shots the slight blur is the app on the phone and not the box

Hmm, that looks very nice bobo. You say there are no HD channels, are the ones in your screenshot (al jazzeera HD) broadcast in SD?
And yeah, what speed line have you got?

The speed reconmended for it is 2mb SD and 4mb for HD I'm ok I've 120mb virgin bb. I got it sent to my dads house and i couldn't wait to get home to try it so i tried it on is 8mb connection and it was fine . The channels on it are for testing only there are no HD uk channels weather that's part of the test I don't know I'm waiting on the guy getting back to me. The Al Jazerea channels aren't broadcasting at the minute as he hasn't activated them yet so they are just blank for the moment. So until that's active there is no way to test JSC Channels HD or SD.

EDIT The filth channels work ok hardcore porn on tap
