Default Cancelling tv sub for virgin

Right my mum wants to cancel her tv sub for virgin but wants to keep the home phone and broadband

Question is will she be able to keep the V+ box and use it for free to air programmes or will they take it away?

I'd imagine as she still has services with them they'll let her keep it

If she cancels the tv they'll take the box. It will probably work out cheaper to keep the TV on the basic package with just a normal box though.

They don't care much about V+ boxes but I suspect they will turn it off anyway. . .

They will turn off the v+ bit of the box. They did this with my mother in law, kept phone and Internet and had the tv turned off. She lost her recordings and the v+ reverted to a free to air box.

I cancelled my Basic Tv service last year -- the girl I spoke suggested that I keep the box ! - I would imagine their thinking is that i may buy a film or two, and might change my mind and start a subscription again.
So I just get the their free channels -- I have to say that there are less free channels on virgin than on FreeView !!!
