Default Just got an acer revo

    Hi guys
Just got an acer revo r3600 for much cheapness
Anyways got Xbmc on it so far and just about to start sticking some plugins on it.
Major issue I have is I don't get a picture via hdmi when plugged into my home cinema amp however plug direct into hdmi in the tv and I do.
Any revo geeks got any ideas?

What I also want to know is what plugins do you guys use and what else should I consider putting on it??

No idea about hdmi, but for addons firstly I would follow this guide to fusion installed (the repo where all the addons are)

    http://www.xbmchub.com/blog/2012/04/...tion-for-xbmc/

If you dont like tinkering you could then one click install the wizard, which would install lots if stuff itself (it also puts on a lot of stuff I personally dont use, so I steer clear) lots of arguments as to whether its quicker to just uninstall the addons you dont use.

My box mostly gets used with what the furk, mashup, alluc(horror films), 1chan and some more niche addons (for example wrestling). Can explain more later, just on the bus to work.

Not sure if/how this differs but someone posted this before:
    http://www.xbmchub.com/blog/2013/05/...rd-beta-addon/

Personally I have SkyGo, sports devil, and video devil add-ons.

The main plugins I use are...

1Channel for TV series, mashup and naviX for films. I also use naviX for streaming sports but ain't tried that very much.

I tend to use the Beta wizard as posted by evil, mega easy to use for first timers. But I suppose is one problem is I didn't know there was a Sky go plug in, I thought there was an issue with silver light or whatever it's called. Also, what's the name of the wrestling app. I tend to use ice films, one channel, navi x.

    Further update

Got my revo running via my telly and HDMI got my sound card sorted using a turtle beach one.

Synology nas bay running along side my USB external.
Apple TV in bedroom all goin good.

Now 1 flaw some movies mainly from my server when I try to play back stutter or just play really sluggish.
I'm curious as to what could be causing this had a tinker but as am new to this whole side of things am not sure what I should be checking.
I was chuffed to bits when I managed to map the Xbmc on my devices to my external drive using SMB.

Yes that's the extent of how good I am

    I know not very
But on a serious note if anyone can help would appreciate it

I remember another thread where the stuttering of video was because of the audio settings I think it was like turn off all the unnecessary ones like DTS etc.

Just disabled the DTS etc and three still a bit of stuttering.
Just curious would the following make a difference?
I have my NAS BAY running with a 500gb hard drive in it that is full so all the new HD movies etc i have been adding are on an external drive plugged into the NAS BAY using USB.

Is it possibly the lag running from an external on USB to the server then to the revo that is causing it??

    Thanks again

It's not just DTS mate it's all the audio things you don't need.

I really didn't think it was the audio but turned everything off and it worked fine now stuttering or freezing.

Copy a film that stutters from the NAS locally to the Revo and then play it. It'll help you pin point where the issue is. At the moment you don't know if it's the NAS or network or the Revo that's causing the stuttering. It is HD stuff your playing? Have you got the hardware acceleration setting on the Revo set? When it's stuttering what's CPU like? Is it running Windows and XBMC or another variety of XBMC?

Wil get a file transferred an try it.
It is HD MKV files I'm playing. I didn't know there was a hardware acceleration setting. Where would I locate this??
Will check the CPU on stuttering movies and yes is windows 7 home premium and xbmc.

I think it's dxva that you need to enable in xbmc. If you've not checked that then it'll be the CPU processing the video rather than the GPU hence the stuttering. The R3600 struggles with CPU. Check that before doing anything else as it's likely to be that. It's just in settings, video I think. Fair easy to find.

    Hi fella
    Had another tinker last night.
Everything I transferred to the server hard drive plays fine so I think it really was all being caused by the USB drive.
That said I also ticked the acceleration option in settings and that has made a bit of a difference also.

    Thanks again all who helped
