    Question iMac or Macbook?

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking a question in my first few posts but I wanted to pick the brains of experienced people here. I'm planning on switching over from windows to apple at some point (when I've saved enough money) but I'm a bit stuck on what exactly I should purchase. I want a Mac for the creative side of computing (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.) I'm a blogger and editing photos on my little notebook is starting to get really cumbersome. I like the look of the iMacs but I'm wondering as i've been used to laptops ever since I've had computers if I would miss the 'portabiility.' I guess I could keep my notebook (a Lenovo Ideapad which is actually really great) for travelling with!

You'll get plenty if advice on pc or mac.

I use both PC and mac. PC is used for day to day work but my trusty old MacBook (about 7 years old) is used for photo editing Lightroom etc etc.

You'll always get more bang for your buck with with desktop machine. If it was a straight choice between the two, I'd go for the iMac.

Macbook if you go with a retina screen. The amount of screen real estate is awesome
