    Default ZX Spectrum 48k+ Games

I had a ZX Spectrum 48k+ (non-rubber key board) hooked up to a black and white TV.

    Mint games were:

    Great Escape
    Dan Dare II
    Infiltrator
    Outrun
    Paperboy
    Head over Heels
A submarine one that i can't remember the name of, but was just lines showing outlines of the shapes - if anyone can name this I would be grateful.

Jet Pac & Trans Am were the only games that would work on my Spectrum 16k that were any good, I wasted hours of my life typing in code only to find I had run out of memory.

Apparently once I had turned on my 16k it only had 8k of usable memory!

Jet pac was where you collected parts of your rocket while avoiding aliens, you then had to collect fuel and once full you took off and onto the next level with more/different aliens.

Has to be Chaos (and pretty much everything Gollop ever did!), then Smuggler an Ant Attack as my top 3.

(I still play chaos on my phone...)

You've just reminded me of all the times I would spend days entering code from a book/magazine only to find out I had made too many mistakes to bother fixing it.

The Spectrum days were tremendous but a lot of you will find if you revisit it now, your memories will be ruined.

I had a 128k+2 a year or so ago and it was depressing when all I had were great memories. It soiled them all.

Wheelie. I really loved this one, but I'm sure now it would be one that gets relegated to the disappointing memories drawer.

    Thanks to coin-op

Do you remember how good the airbrushed artwork on the cassette box was on these games?
I'd save and save for the games I wanted that I saw in the magazines and be wowed by the box...
Only to find it was all pixelated bollocks. Still didn't stop me though.
I can remember playing the ported version of Dragons Lair on the speccy.
Fuck me that was some painful shite.

    Best game ever though:
    Way of the exploding fist
