Default Re: Football Bets 2013/14 Season

    my weekend football bets

In the Chinese Super League, Shanghai Shenhua entertain Wuhan Zall. Both sides are struggling, with Shanghai currently in twelth of sixteen, while Wuhan are bottom, some seven points adrift.

Shanghai’s form has been okay, with two wins and two defeats in five, the wins and defeats have been by the odd goal. Longer term form shows five defeats in twenty-five, but recent squad losses have started to show.

Wuhan have just ten points this season, with the last five matches including three defeats and in the last game, just their second victory of the season. Their long term form has been shocking with seventeen defeats in the last twenty-four matches. On top of that, they have failed to win on their last thirteen trips.

The one and only meeting lead to a 3-3 draw in May at Wuhan, but with away form being so poor, Shanghai should be too strong. Shanghai are 2/5 to win, with a Shanghai/Shanghai half-time/full-time result coming in at 6/5. Also worth a shout is the under 2.5 goals bet at 11/10 as in the last six games each time has played, a total of ten goals have been scored.

The Dutch Eredivisie features Twente against Heerenveen. After four matches in the division both sides have seven points, although Heerenveen have had the tougher of the two starts.

Twente followed their 6-0 victory over Utrecht with defeat away to Vitesse. While Heerenveen’s two wins at the start of the season have been followed by a surprising defeat to Heracles (2-4) and then regaining some pride with a 3-3 draw with Ajax.

I’d expect a high scoring match, considering there have been twenty goals in Heerenveen’s matches alone, while Twente’s have provided a more modest twelve. Over 3.5 goals comes in at 11/10, while a riskier over 4.5 goal bet is available at 5/2. Twente are odds on favourites at 4/9.

The Saudi league sees Al Orubuh play Al Ittihad. The sides had a differing start on the opening day of the season, with Al Orubuh losing 0-3 and Al Ittihad winning 4-1.

Al Orubuh won the second division title last year by four points and come into the new season with survival being at the forefront of their minds. They have relied on free transfers from within Saudi Arabia and will hope they have enough to avoid going straight down again.

Al Ittihad finished in mid-table last year and have signed several Brazilians, including Fernando Basiano to aide their attempt at improving their league position.

Al Ittihad are 1/2 to grab the away win, while the draw is 31/10. It will be a big day for the Al Orubuh club with their first home game in the top flight, so expect them to give Al Ittihad a go in the first half. I feel Al Ittihad will be too strong though and see a draw/Al Ittihad half-time/full-time bet at 18/5 looks a good pick.

The Uruguayan Primera Division features Liverpool against Danubio. Both sides have played two games, with Liverpool winning and losing, while Danubio have won and drawn.

Liverpool have one win in eight, and are looking to improve on their twelfth in last seasons clausura. A busy transfer window has seen ten players coming in on frees. Danubio finished fifth in the clausura, only six points adrift of the winners. Some transfer activity has been had, again with frees being the main incumbents.

Liverpool are 29/20 to win, while Danubio are 9/5 to grab the away win. Previous meetings give Danubio an advantage as they have won three of the last seven, with the remaining four ending in draws, so the draw at 11/5 looks good.

    Sunday

Colombian sides Millionarios and Atletico Huila meet in a league encounter. Millonarios sit in fourth place some three points of the leaders and with a game in hand. Atletico are struggling in fifteenth place.

Millonarios form has been strong after a stuttering start, four wins on the bounce coincides with a break in the cup competitions. Traditionally they are a strong side at home with one defeat in the last thirteen competitive matches on home turf.

Atletico are in comparison on a shocking run of form, winning just two of their last twenty-nine matches, including sixteen defeats.

Despite Millonarios being favourites at 1/2, Atletico are a bit of a bogey side for the Bogota side, having won three and drawn three of the last seven. So despite form, a 29/10 for the draw may be worth a look.

In the Brazilian Serie B, Ceara host Palmeiras.

Ceara are in 15th place in the division and on a run of two wins and two defeats in five. Palmeiras are top of the table as they look to return to the top flight after their surprise relegation. They have won three of the last five, although two consecutive defeats has seen form dip.

Ceara remain undefeated to Palmeiras at home in the three previous meetings, but are 85/40 to win. Palmeiras are favourites at 23/20 and look too strong for Ceara, especially when you consider players like Alan Kardec have remained at the club. Despite the poor performances recently, a narrow Palmeiras win is on the cards. I’d look at an under 1.5 goals bet at 27/10.

A big clash in Russia is up next, with Zenit taking on Lokomotiv Moscow.

After six games in the league, Zenit are in fifth on eleven points, whilst winning their four Champions League games, scoring fourteen goals.

Lokomotiv sit in second place, one point behind the leaders. They have won four and lost just one in their six and have no European distractions.

Zenit are 7/10 to win the match, but it will be very interesting to see how they fair after the European game against Pacos Ferriera, which saw them concede at home for the first time in 300 minutes of football. Lokomotiv are still a little misleading form wise, with the two games against the better sides in Russia, ending in a draw and a defeat. I see a tight game and the under 2.5 goals bet at 4/5 looks like a goer.

The last game sees the Argentinian top flight match between Boca Juniors and Velez Sarsfield.

With the league season off and running, the opening four matches for Boca have seen two wins and and two defeats.

Velez have one win and three draws in their opening four league games, while winning one and losing one in the opening tie of the Copa Sudamericana.

Velez have signed several players in the window, with the biggest being Mauro Zarate joining from Lazio. Boca have made some excellent signings but have failed to gel so far. The biggest signing being Fernando Gago from Valencia.

Head to head there is nothing to distinguish one from the other, with each side winning three and four draws in the last ten. Each game has been a tight affair with no more than a one goal margin of victory. I’d expect an equally tight game between the sides on Sunday, so 2/1 the draw looks a great bet, with a draw/draw half-time/full-time bet available at 10/3.

    Thanks to ganjaman2

Please ignore the ones that go into next week/weekend especially from the UK list. Not many games fit into it this week because of international duty.

Lambert is starting. Wellbeck can sod off, he is shite, cannot keep hold of a ball and bums Andy Townsend. Why else would he give him Man of the Match in the last game!

If anyone dares with the 'potential' remark about Wellbeck.. Sod potential when your playing for your country, you should be proven.

Yeah it is tough to predict full stop, we do a predict 6 i.e. a 6 way accum (adapted into a league format) at work and even tho 20 people do it weekly it is hardly ever won outright usually goes after someone accumulates 21 points over a number of weeks.

But back to the point I always check the site above just to validate me predictions ;-)

One thing I will say, we have decided to avoid 2/5 odds as they seem to be letting us down a lot.
