I hate Star Trek but enjoyed this as a loud SF romp with no brain required. If you were a fan it would probbly be wank. Some guy at work said Spock was out if character at one point and refused to watch the rest.

Alluding to what Bertroot said, I mainly didn't like this as I'm a long term Star Trek fan. I'm still not happy with how Abrams messed up 40 years of storyline with the first film, and this one just made it worse. The various references to the 'original' were horribly laboured and contrived.
Fanboy issues aside, the film didn't seem to flow very well to me? I thought it was going to be a long battle between Kirk and Harrison, but that only really happened at the beginning and end, and there was a gaping hole in the middle.
I dunno....felt like the Dark Knight Rises all over again.
I enjoyed this - not a Trekkie - but I enjoyed the show in its various guises over the years . And - I loved the dark knight rises .
8/10 for me don't like the way thy have changed the time line at all but as a fast paced scifi romp with lots of action fom start to finish I would recommend it to watch
I hated the Star Trek of Shatner, Nimoy and that bald bloke from Mirfield. Then JJ Abrams took over and made the franchise more appealing, for me anyway. I've enjoyed both movies he's done so far. Although Simon Pegg should stick to working with Nick Frost and they should turn it down a bit with that Russian bloke and his accent. Cockov I think his name is.
Gets a solid 7.65/10 from me.
loved this film. A good solid 8.5/10 all day long and might be a 9 once I've rewatched it
