Why is there a light in the fridge but not in the freezer?

i guess it's a matter of costs(freezer is so small and much less used than the fridge) and maybe because freezer may be too cold and icy for a light to work in good conditions
perhaps it's some kind of heritage from the pre-led times when lights were hot
