Good Cheap Laptop for 12 Year Old?

Need something cheap that can be purchased tomorrow (Wed 16/10).

One of my best mates asked me to supply him with one as he knew I had a few but none of mine are for sale and they are old c2d's anyway.

The only real demands are:

Price : £250 or less
Suitable for teenager : I'm guessing a teenager may be more likely to handle it a little rough.

I'm guessing a laptop that could be purchase from a physical shop would be best as the b'day is on Thu, but if there is a ridiculous mail order offer this could be of interest.

Unfortunately, leaving it to the last minute is only really going to put the likes of Argos or Currys in list of possibilities

A complete and utter waste of time. But don't be tellin' any 12 year olds.

This is a Grade "A2" return. Not a bad spec, but been opened and returned and apparently has nothing wrong with it... risky?
Nice looking lappy that a 12 year old will like though IMO.

What about a chromebook?

I got my ma one the other year. Almost impossible for her to break software wise and they do fit that price bracket.

Your going to lose Skype functionality, that's the biggest package I can think of but google have alternatives.

He's 12, he should have to plug his computer in to a TV screen to use it. Make him get a raspberry pi.
