    Default Mavericks

I thought I'd finally get around to updating my old MacBook to Mavericks GM today, and so far I'm impressed!

This is an old aluminium Macbook with the 2GHz C2D CPU and 4GB of RAM so nothing too powerful, but the new Safari is rapid compared to Firefox that I have on this same machine - it really is like having an upgrade!

Apps wise it looks similar - they've changed the dock so you get a little grey line under open apps now, and you get iBooks and Maps apps straight out of the box.

Maps seems to run better on this Macbook than on my iPad, although it isn't shifting the same amount of pixels around which must help!

Anyone else running this yet? I did skip 10.8 so it's possible that I'd have seen less of a boost going from 10.8.x to 10.9 but it's a great upgrade from 10.7.

I just need to get my AppleTV back now to see if this old machine will do the screen sharing - I'm sure I read somewhere it needed a newer machine than I have but fingers crossed

Your model of macbook pro will not do screen sharing, you might want to try an app called AirParrot though, not tried it myself as have a new mac but its supposed to do mirroring on older devices
