Default First watchdogs now possibly driveclub

Driveclub has also possibly been delayed at least 4 months. If this is true its bad news for sony.

We’ve had word from an anonymous source that Sony’s upcoming PS4 launch title Driveclub is delayed until spring 2014. While no reason for the delay was given it has been reported previously that the game had looked a little unfinished when shown at various events this year.

With a little under a month before the PS4′s US release this isn’t the best of news, especially in the light of Ubisoft’s news that the highly anticipated launch title watch Dog’s won’t be hitting until sometime next year. It’s also a hit to the platforms hugely popular PS+ service as an albeit stripped down version of Driveclub was due to be available for PS+ subscribers free at launch.

It could also be another blow to retailers who are already having to scramble to adjust preorder bundles of the PS4 in light of yesterdays news.

As stated this is just a rumour at present, expect this piece to self destruct if it turns out to be rubbish but we’ll be sure to update as we learn more. I have reached out to both Evolution Studios and Sony for comment but as yet neither has chosen to reply.

A lot of this was inevitable. Mis-sell to fanbois at E3, get the pre-orders in then drop the bombshell.
I am surprised however that they have done it with plenty of time to change their pre-orders.. No doubt M$ will have some similar bombshells to drop in the next 30 days or so too.

I guess it means a lot of these companies will go bankrupt too (see my post in the Old Skool section) once finally released. It is all too common nowadays.

Some companies have taken the full money for the console when pre-ordering, some a deposit & with mine on Amazon nothing therefore I cancelled without any issues.

I feel sorry for those who the company took the full amount straight away.

If you are going to shell out that amount of money, and it is a lot of money, then launch day titles shouldn't really be the thing that 'sells' it if you are sensible.

The games will come out. They will come out with the apology of 'We wanted to get everything just right for you, you the gamer.... blah blah bullshit bullshit'.
If these games are exclusives that you are waiting for then to switch to a 'One' now then regret it later down the line once they are available would be plain stupid.

A lot of people will buy both systems, these are not the days of SNES v's Megadrive when you could only afford 1 if any at all! Parents are under so much pressure to give the kids what they want in order to not be bullied about the systems they have (sad but it happens) and any single blokes out there will have the disposable cash. It is just a case of which will you buy first!

I'm getting both machines but haven't a clue which machine games will be 'better' on.

Apart from a launch title on each I think I'll hit marketplace/psn for games until prices settle, 50 sheets a game isn't me.

Both Resogun and Contrast will be free

Shame about Driveclub but would rather have a finished / bug free game to play on. At least it is another free game when it lands

    Thanks to prezzy

Really... I envisage multiple patches.. Every time I turn my Xbox on there is an update for something. This isn't the age of Cartridges any more, they don't have to fix all of the bugs in today's world, they just need to make it so you can actually play through the game and even that has proven to not be the case with some titles of late in certain scenarios.

Obviously I didn't mean totally bug free as you say no games are these days

The good old days of Cartridges were not always bug free either of course and they had multiple revisions of the game although as a consumer you were never really exposed to it.

But in some cases it made the game valuable. Turok Rage Wars on the N64 had a problem where you could never ever complete it in co-op mode. It was the NTSC version and the Grey Cartridge. The issue was fixed and re-released in a black cart.
