Default Quick poached eggs in a microwave.

I love runny egg and mayo sarnies and usually make them by boiling the eggs to a soft consistency so the yolk is still soft, then peeling the shell, putting on the bread and then slicing through the egg. Takes a while. I watched this YT vid earlier and tried it this way - came out really well and couldn't notice the difference in taste myself. I just used a glass jar and put the 1/2 cup of water into that. The time may need adjusting depending on your microwave power output but 50 seconds on my 750W was fine.

thats great,(but i find micro wave dont tast the same as boiled to me) i normally use clingfilm coated with oil, sprinkle with salt n pepper, drop my egg in the middle of cling film, pick the 4 corners up & make a balloon & tigh it off, drop into boiling water for 5 mins & done.(for me 5 mins is perfect)

for speed (brekkie) that microwave method looks superb.
If I'm cooking for guests then I use a Ramsay/Smith method:

pan of water, bring to just boiling,so small bubbles are forming. spin the water and drop the egg in as per Gordons method. boil for 1 min, then take off the heat and leave in water for 5-6 minutes. The egg tates really silky and the yolk is superb.
