Default 3m MDF Sheets for Home Theatre shelf

I'm in need of building a 3m shelf in my lounge.

The measurements that I need to get are -
    2910mm x 610mm

I would like quite a thick shelf as it'll be holding all my Home Theatre equipment. I have one at the moment, built using an old IKEA book shelf, but it's too small now to fit into the 'gap' I'm hoping to move it to.
I'm going to be holding it at the front with steel thread bar into my ceiling (which are concrete) and supporting it at the back on the wall with a piece of 2x1 timber.

The problem I'm having is finding a supplier for MDF more than 2440mm.

If anyone knows of anywhere or another way I could 'bodge' a decent floating looking shelf that'll be wide enough for my AMP, it'd be appreciated.

To give you a clue of what I mean, it will be similar to what I already have, just longer and wider.

I'm planning on doing that, but it's the length I need (Ooh missus!)
2440mm is easy to get, anything longer is like rocking horseshit.

I was even thinking of gluing and staggering 3 sheets and cutting to the right size.

Go direct to local timber merchants. If they do nto have MDF up to silly lengths, they will sell other cost effective sizes you could make use of.

I meant other woods in such lengths, reads as if you just buy smaller mdf lengths.

Have a google for Arnold Laver they are a wood supplier we've used at work on the past, I'm sure they'll have something.

Generally materials like mdf chipboard etc are supplied in sheets 2.4m x 1.2m , i suggest laminating two sheets together with adhesive , staggered so you can achieve your desired dimensions and you could cover the joint between the two sheets with another piece piece of timber on the face of the shelf

Had a ring round today and found one of my local timber yards (not PGR or the like), although don't usually stock anything that long, can order it in and at any length up to 5m's. Who knew!?

Ordered a sheet at 3000x1220x18mm for delivery tomorrow for £32. Bargain and impressed they deliver that quick!

Thanks for the suggestions lads. I did phone Arnold Laver and they could supply it, but it was quite pricey and delivery was longer.

Bit late now, but an alternative could have been to get some thin MDF, glue it to the top/bottom/front of a sheet of Celotex/Kingspan.
Would be strong enough to hold your equipment and very light, although the rods into concrete you have should be fine.
